Where Are the Next Posts?
As of right now, I will not be posting any more journal entries. This was a difficult decision to make. There are more journal entries to reveal, but I need to take action and make something more of these than just a blog. I never planned on doing this; in fact, I anticipated sharing the entire journey on this website. However, after a lot of thinking and professional writing advice, I have decided I want to work on these posts more and create something bigger.
You will be able to read the rest of the posts eventually—however, I can’t tell you when since I don’t even know myself. All I do know is that this is the next step I have to take and I don’t want to risk self-publishing all of my work on this site if my gut feeling is to do something bigger.
I did not intend to use these posts as bait, only to leave you hanging. In fact, it pains me to know how long it will take to complete this process while you wait to see what happens next. I will keep the other posts up on the site for others to read when they visit. I hope they can serve as a way to still connect to those who are suffering with an eating disorder, as well as a way for others to understand what having an eating disorder is like.
Posting has been a great outlet for me mentally and has actually aided in my recovery process. It’s like releasing difficult parts of my past for good. I’m doing much better and I feel like a better, stronger person for everything I’ve gone through.
I encourage anyone to write about their life as it happens. Keeping a journal could possibly aid you in the future. I have learned so much about myself after looking back at these entries and continuing to write about my journey today.

I saw a lot of my own past in your posts. I just finished high school and I was a cross country runner. What started out as a passion to get better snowballed to a restrictive diet and eventually an eating disorder. About 3 months after the climax of my eating problems, I decided to start eating a plant-based diet. Go figure! Haha. It’s amazing to see all the pain and frustration I’ve felt put into words by someone else, yet feeling like there are my own thoughts. I know what you mean by struggling even after it seems the problem is nearly solved. I’m at the point where episodes or feeling caught up in a fight against food are events that occur few and far between. I did not write down my struggle and honestly I never spoke to anyone like I should have. Reading your journals has been therapeutic and brought more of a sense of understanding with my own past. It’s been comforting, after you’ve given me an example I can relate to and not feel so different. For that I thank you, and I wish you good luck in wherever this journey takes you.
Ryan, thank you so much for sharing. I’m glad to have been able to put our feelings into words. It is frustrating, but hopefully by speaking out about it we can learn to heal.
I’m glad the episodes and feelings are lessening. I feel I am coming to that point as well, and it is a great, freeing feeling!
Thank you for your support. I will let you all know what happens next when I get to that point! :)
I can also relate to so many of your thoughts and my situation looks very similar to yours. I’m looking forward to hearing how you moved on.
Thank you for your comment! I can’t wait to share the rest of my story; it has been a crazy, stressful ride but I am seeing the light and life is good! :) I wish you luck in your journey as well.
Aaaack!!! I’m already going through withdrawals at the mere mention of this!
Seriously, I have been following your blog since day one (not subscribed, but check in daily). Thank you SO MUCH for sharing yourself so honestly.
If you’d like some assistance with proofreading/editing, please let me know. I offer this selfishly, so I can read more! But also unselfishly, as I do have years of experience copy editing and proofreading for publishing companies and I’d be happy to give back to you in this way.
Hopefully you can see my email from this submission.
The anticipation of your next step is absolutely tantalizing….
good luck I wait with eager anticipation for your next writing.
